July 4th Style
The 4th of July is pretty special to me. It's a time of celebration and a time to spend with family and/or friends. I can smell the baked beans and brisket already! It's going to be an adorkable, fun holiday!
If you're like me and want to look festive but not over-the-top, then you can't go wrong with this simple, but cute, look. One of my favorite, casual looks for celebrating the 4th of July is to wear a simple t-shirt and blue jean leggings with sandals. Any color t-shirt and shade of blue jeans will do, but finding something to tie it all in together is the trick. I looked and I found.
Stars and stripes are always in style for Americans, but this bag is super special to me. It has made its way through many parts of the "Home of the Brave" and "Land of the Free" after my sweet grandfather, a true patriotic soldier, bought it for my grandmother when they were traveling together. I saw this bag in my grandmother's closest and just had to spotlight it for this occasion. It was my inspiration for this outfit.
Whether I am sitting out watching my local fireworks with my family or friends or sitting back and watching a great American movie like "The Sandlot" with my small group of favorite people, casual is my personal favorite style.
Want to shop this look?
1. T-shirts are a staple in my closet. I highlighted this one in my kimono post. It's a JCPennys sleepwear shirt. So comfy. Even though it says the color is oatmeal, it passes easily for white. On sale now for $11.22 when you use the check code coupon...4YOUSHOP.
2. I love the look of these vintage blue jeans. They have a lot of stretch to them and are mid-rise; exactly my kind of blue jean. They were only $19.99 at my local Steinmart. But, if you don't have a Steinmart near you (and only a few states don't have a Steinmart!), you'll only pay $7.99 shipping. That still makes a great pair of jeans under $30!
3. These sandals are seriously one of my favorite staple shoes in my closet. The color is rich, but I didn't have to be rich to pick these up. They are $24.99 now at Target. Order them online, and get 15% off with the code JULY4. Steal!
4. I can't duplicate this bag because it's an oldie but goodie, but here is an adorable one that fits the look. Use it as a beach bag or diaper bag or just a bag bag. I love the star on one side and the stripes on the other. So patriotic and so many uses.
5. I'm not an "every other-week, change my nail color" girl, but I had to add some RED to my nails for this holiday. Essie nail polish wins again for me with #558. It's called "too too hot" which is perfect with our 98 degree Texas weather!
