3 Things to Do In Oklahoma City

All cities have their own uniqueness about them. You just have to look beyond the tall buildings, busy streets, and endless highways to find those quaint little places that make one city different over the other. When you're looking for fun things to do it may feel like you are stuck with the usual options: shopping malls, fast food, and movies, but the reality is that there are many fun places waiting to be explored…,you just need know about them.

I went to Oklahoma to see some family and friends recently, and visited Oklahoma City. All the memories of fun things to do and places to visit in and around Oklahoma City came flooding back to me. I always tell people I left a piece of my heart there. Oklahoma City is one of the sweetest places I know. I lived near there for a few years while attending college in Edmond, a town nearby. Me and my buds were always looking for places to go and things to see outside of our college walls. Oklahoma City was our go-to place.

Check out these vacay possibilities in case you happen to find yourself passing through OK city.

1.      Golf: Need to do a little stretching before going on to your next stop? Or, want to soak up the sun without putting on your bathing suit? Then golf! Toss out the jokes about how “no one likes golf,” and get your golf on! If you're into golf on any level, you'll easily find some great shots waiting for you at either Lincoln Park or the James E. Stewart Golf Course.  Take the whole family or go alone. Either way, it's also a wonderful way to get out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine on a different golf course and in a new city. SCORE!

2.      Water taxi: Get off your feet and off the ground in this fun water taxi. Cruise down the river banks and enjoy some shade while looking some sights over. Load up the family or go on a solo ride as you sit back, relax, enjoy some history and see Oklahoma City from a different perspective. Want to stretch this fun out all day and enjoy some great food and shopping nearby? No problem. It’s the best value around because the tickets are all day passes, so you come back for a second, third, or fourth round!

3.      Fuzzy's taco shop: Who doesn't love tacos, right?  If you're in Oklahoma City, you need – need – to have tacos from Fuzzy's taco shop.  Don't want a taco?  There's a lot more, including burritos, salads and nachos. I highly recommend the Shredded Chicken Nachos!  With a little something for everyone, no one will walk away hungry.  Great food, great service, and a sure stop.  After eating at Fuzzy’s taco shop, you’ll wish every day was Taco Tuesday!

Oklahoma City is a little treasure that has so many things for people to see and do. If you are traveling on the way to somewhere else, think about making this a stopping place and enjoy some small city adventures. Or, if you happen to have family and friends nearby, even better! Oklahoma City has enough great little places to make your stay a sweet little adventure.
